James Burnett is a composer, songwriter, producer, and music supervisor working across music and visual media. He is the founder and chief creative officer of Burnett Music; composer at Neon Orchestra; and guitarist for Little Dume. He’s known for music that explores emotional and spiritual themes, delivered through raw performances and live instrumentation.
As executive music producer for Deadpool 2, James helped bring to life “Ashes” by Celine Dion, which became a global hit. His songwriting credits include “Settle,” the lead single from Jordan Smith’s #1 album Something Beautiful, and “Craving” by Arty and Audien, a Billboard Dance #1.
He composed the original runway score Billy Shakespeare for Prophetik’s landmark show at London Fashion Week, the first and only show ever held at the Tower of London, performed live by a string quartet and acoustic ensemble
Recent projects as executive music producer and music supervisor include Amazon MGM Studios’ series American Gladiators; Alec Roth and Al Pacino’s film Billy Knight; Stone Village Pictures’ docu-series In Search of Love; and David Henrie and Selena Gomez’s film This Is The Year; Jimmy Fallon’s NBC series On Brand; and HBO’s docu-series Celtics City.
