James Burnett is a songwriter, producer & music supervisor, and the founder and CEO of Burnett Music. As executive music producer for Deadpool 2, James helped bring to life Celine Dion’s “Ashes,” the film’s main theme, which went on to be performed in her Las Vegas residency, earn a Hollywood Music in Media Award nomination, and remixed by Steve Aoki which reached #1 on Billboard Dance.

He composed the original runway score Billy Shakespeare for Prophetik’s landmark show at London Fashion Week, the first and only show ever held at the Tower of London. He also co-wrote “Craving” by ARTY and Audien, which reached #1 on Billboard Dance, and “Settle,” the lead single from Jordan Smith’s album Something Beautiful, which reached #1 on iTunes.

Recent projects span music supervision and executive music production for HBO’s documentary Celtics City, Alec Roth and Al Pacino’s Billy Knight, NBC’s On Brand with Jimmy Fallon, and a collaboration with Jelly Roll on the theme song for Amazon’s American Gladiators. Across his work, James is drawn to artist-driven music and emotionally resonant storytelling. He is also a guitarist and songwriter in the California band Little Dume.
